To ensure that a production workflow runs smoothly, the throughput, in other words the meters of welds inspected per minute, plays a role in pipe inspection that is just as important as high image quality.

The pipe inspection systems offered by YXLON contain conveyor technology and/or interfaces to conveyor technologies for the widest variety of pipe production systems. Manipulation adapted to the pipes' dimensions and weights makes sure that an equally wide variety of pipes can be inspected trouble-free.

In addition, the use of flat-panel detectors allows pipe inspection solutions to be deployed that require little space. Since the compact image acquisition unit can be easily mounted on a sled, the inspection envelope for pipe inspection only has to be a little larger than the pipe itself. An intelligent control unit moves the X-ray tube and flat-panel detector synchronously along the weld during pipe inspection. In the case of spiral welds, the pipe is automatically rotated during pipe inspection, too.
